| Volunteer abroad |
Do you want to be a volunteer?
We can help you, if you are from Åland/Finland, to find a suitable project. We will apply for funding for your travel costs and we will help you with all the practicalities for the voluntary job. We will keep in contact with you, as well as with your host organisation, during your voluntary placement abroad. We can also apply for money for an advance planning visit to the host organisation, and travel there together with you. It is important and useful for all the three parties to meet before the job begins. As a hosting organisation we usually have one volunteer each year. Our previous volunteers have come from France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland (UK), and Poland. You can also work as a volunteer in countries that are not members of the EU, such as Turkey, Palestine, and the Balkan countries. Here are our latest volunteers:

The Peace Institute works with volunteers within the European Voluntary Service, EVS. We are both a hosting and a sending organisation. The EU-funding for EVS voluntary projects is administrated by the National Agencies, in Finland by the Center for International Mobility, CIMO. This means that we only can send youth from Åland (Finland) as volunteers.
