On Friday, 25 of September, people came to the Multicultural Cafe of Azerbaijan to get introduce and talk about the country. The café was organized by Åland Peace Institute, the Finnish Red Cross, the Multicultural Association of Åland and Café Bönan. Volunteer at Peace Institute, Kamala Ramazanova, talked about the Azerbaijan’s history, nature, culture, cuisine, religion and people. She compared Åland people with Azerbaijanis and fined some common and different characters. Through pictures and videos in presentation audience saw the capital Baku looks and what Azeri people most like to wear.

 The audience was inspired by stories about Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic which was created at the same time with Åland. People also so interested in “Oil rocks” (Neft dashlari) a functional city with a population of about 5,000 which is the first off-shore oil exploration in the world. Audience listened typical Azeri song and especially Mugam. They also saw words in Azeri language. Audience got acquainted with national holiday Novruz. They showed deep interest to this holiday and especially national traditions that people do this day. People also got opportunity to taste Azeri “Gutab” during the presentation.
